Model what you pay carriers for each order with priority-ordered rules.

Shipping rules estimate what you pay the carrier, independent of what the customer paid. Open Costs → Shipping.

Add a rule

  1. Name it and set a priority

Lower numbers run first. The first active rule whose conditions all match an order sets its cost.

  2. Set the conditions

Countries (ISO codes), regions, shipping methods, carriers, warehouses, SKUs, minimum and maximum order value, weight and quantity. Leave a condition blank to match everything. Lists accept commas or new lines.

  3. Set the cost to you

Base cost, cost per extra item after the first, and cost per kg. Choose the currency.

  4. Save

Profit is recalculated for matching orders.

Example

Orders to the US over $75 ship free for the customer. You still pay the carrier.

RulePriorityConditionsBasePer extra item
US free shipping1Country US, order value ≥ $75$8.00$1.00
US standard2Country US$6.00$1.00

An order of $90 with 2 units matches the first rule: $8.00 + $1.00 = $9.00.

Actual costs from a provider

A rule can name a cost provider. When a connected shipping provider reports the actual label cost for an order, that cost overrides the rule. See Fulfillment and shipping providers.

Without rules, only the shipping costs reported by a provider integration are used.
