Shopify
What Marginful reads from Shopify, the access it asks for and how sync works.
Shopify is Marginful's main data source. The connection is made when you install the app. See Install Marginful.
Access scopes
All scopes are read-only. Marginful never requests write access.
| Scope | Used for |
|---|---|
read_products | Products, variants, SKUs, prices, Shopify unit costs, collections |
read_inventory | Stock levels for inventory value, stockout alerts and storage costs |
read_orders | Orders, refunds, fulfillments, discounts, taxes and shipping |
read_customers | Recognising new and returning customers |
read_shopify_payments_accounts, read_shopify_payments_payouts | Real Shopify Payments fees |
What stays in sync
- Order, refund and product changes arrive as Shopify webhooks a few moments after they happen.
- Every 15 minutes, Marginful also checks for anything it missed.
- Inventory is snapshotted once a day.
Order history
Shopify shows apps the last 60 days of orders. Import older orders with Smart import.
Uninstalling
When you uninstall, the access token is revoked and deleted and syncing stops. Shopify sends a deletion request 48 hours later, and Marginful then deletes the store and all of its data. See Data retention.
